This Privacy Policy describes how LoungeChat ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using LoungeChat, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide, improve, and personalize our Service. This includes information you provide directly and information we collect automatically.

Profile information (photos, bio, location, interests)
Messages, media, and content you send or share through the Service
Payment and transaction information for in-app purchases

Information Collected Automatically

Device information (model, operating system, unique device identifiers, IDFA/GAID)
Log data (IP address, access times, pages viewed, app crashes, session duration)
Location data (GPS, Wi-Fi, cellular triangulation when permissions are granted)
Usage patterns (features used, interactions, tap patterns, scroll behavior)
Network information (carrier, connection type, signal strength)
Contacts and address book data (if you grant permission)

Video Call Data

During video calls, periodic still frames are automatically captured from the video feed and transmitted to our content moderation servers for real-time safety analysis
If a frame is flagged by our automated safety systems, it may be stored along with your user ID, conversation ID, and classification results for moderator review
Frames that are not flagged are not stored and are discarded immediately after analysis
We collect and log all available device and usage data to improve service quality, ensure safety, and provide personalized experiences. This includes metadata associated with all interactions on the platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
To personalize your experience and deliver relevant content
To facilitate connections and communications between users
To process transactions and send related notices
To send promotional communications, updates, and marketing materials
To monitor usage patterns, trends, and analytics
To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms
To perform real-time automated content moderation of video calls using AI classification models
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements
To train and improve machine learning models and algorithms
For any other purpose disclosed to you at the time of collection or with your consent

3. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as legally permissible and as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. This includes retention after account deletion for legal, safety, and business purposes.

When you delete your account, we may retain certain data for an extended period as required by law, for fraud prevention, to resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or for other legitimate business purposes. Anonymized and aggregated data derived from your information may be retained indefinitely.

4. Account Deletion & Data Removal

You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen within the app. When you delete your account, we immediately and permanently remove the following:

Your profile, including photos, bio, and personal information
Your connections (followers, following, friend lists)
Your authentication credentials and active sessions
Push notification tokens and device registrations
Uploaded files (avatars, posts, chat media) from our storage

Chat messages you have sent are anonymized — message content is replaced with "[message deleted]" and disassociated from your identity.

If your account has unresolved moderation flags, open reports, or policy violations at the time of deletion, we may retain a limited legal hold record for up to one year. This is permitted under GDPR Article 17(3) for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.

If you previously completed identity verification through Didit, the verification session ID is retained during any legal hold period. Actual identity documents are stored and managed by Didit according to their own data retention policy.

5. User Content & Images

By uploading content to LoungeChat, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such content in any media or distribution method, for any purpose.

This license persists even after you delete the content or your account, to the extent the content has been shared, distributed, or cached. We may use your content for promotional, advertising, or marketing purposes without additional compensation or notice.

6. Automated Video Call Moderation

By using the video call features of LoungeChat, you acknowledge and consent to real-time automated monitoring of your video feed for content safety purposes.

During video calls, our systems periodically capture still frames from your video feed and transmit them to our moderation servers. These frames are analyzed in real-time by AI-based classification models to detect prohibited content, including nudity and sexually explicit material.

If our automated systems detect a potential violation, the following actions may occur automatically without prior human review:

The video call may be immediately terminated
The flagged frame(s) and associated metadata may be stored for moderator review
Your account may be flagged, warned, or suspended based on severity and frequency of violations

Frames that are not flagged by our automated systems are discarded immediately after analysis and are not stored.

Our legitimate interest in providing a safe platform for all users constitutes the legal basis for this processing. You may choose not to use video call features if you do not consent to automated video moderation.

7. Third-Party Services

We may share your information with third-party service providers, analytics partners, advertising networks, and business partners. These third parties may include:

Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers
Analytics and performance monitoring services
Advertising and marketing platforms
Payment processing services
Identity verification providers
Content moderation and safety services

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies independently.

8. Automated Decision-Making

Our Service uses automated systems to make decisions that may significantly affect you, including real-time video moderation that may terminate calls and flag accounts. These decisions are made without human intervention at the point of detection. You have the right to request human review of any automated moderation action by contacting our support team.

9. Cookies, Tracking & Advertising

We use cookies, pixels, SDKs, and similar tracking technologies to collect usage information, deliver targeted advertising, and analyze traffic.

On iOS, we will request your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before tracking your activity across other companies' apps and websites for advertising purposes.

We use third-party advertising services (such as Google AdMob) to display ads within the Service. These services may collect device identifiers and usage data to deliver and measure advertising.

10. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable security measures to protect your data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

11. Children's Privacy

LoungeChat is not intended for anyone under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 17. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.

12. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information below.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the app and become effective upon posting. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
